Autumn at County Hall

This tree lives in an enclosed quadrant at County Hall and every autumn it looks stunning in the late afternoon sunshine.

Umbrella Drama

My first time playing Libbaton Golf Course and on the third we had monsoon-like rain. And then my umbrella blew into the pond as I took my putt. We gave up after nine holes and a liberal soaking.

Dartmoor

Meg and I had nothing to do on Sunday so we went onto Dartmoor for a walk.
After seeing how much it was to get in to Becky Falls we went on to Hound Tor instead.
It was overcast, misty and windy. Typical Dartmoor weather. We walked around the Tor, down to Hundatora and to Greator Rocks. I had also managed to borrow my dad's new digital SLR for the day. Go to www.flickr.com/photos/spoonofmilk to see the photos.

Winning Ways

I had the day off on Friday to play in the Devon County Golf Society at Lanhydrock. The weather was... inclement, to say the least.
In the morning I played 18 holes and in the afternoon a further 18 for the Kelly Cup, a matchplay tournament played over the year.
I had the pleasure of playing a very nice guy called Steve Spicer who plays off a handicap of 7 to my 20. This meant I had ten shots (three quarters of the difference).
To cut a long story short it was a close faught match which went all the way to the last hole. Which I won, getting this monster trophy in the process.
Further benefits of the day included £20 to spend in WH Smith and a raging temperature. I am now lying on the sofa dosed up and awaiting dinner at my grandparents!

Happy Birthday Dazman

Saturday night was me mate Daz's birthday celebration. After a massive meal at the Jack Russell in Swimbridge we ended up in Babylon, a club that still plays Chesney Hawkes and Tiffany.
